Now the good part of this entire post / bulletin, yes these are Arab Doctors ,Inventors , actors and successful businessmen, but none is a muslim, they were all CHRISTIAN Lebanese. amazing isnt it? is anyone surprised?
now can u imagine if I include other other Arab christian achievers from Palestine, Jordan,Syria ,Egypt and Iraq, I bet you the list will be several times the size, what does this tell u, how come most achievers are the none muslims in fact the christians and mostly lived in these islamic countries just like everyone else.
I welcome the feedback.
Yes, I was surprised....for a moment, silly me!
ReplyDeleteWell i think you have to read more about muslims achievments, surprisingly you didn't mention Ahmed Zewel and by the way Omar el Sherif is a muslim man.. sorry man but i think muslims is not like you imagine..and we do have achievements and dreams that we will make it come true,i think you need to read more about Islam don't get youe info. from your media
ReplyDeleteI read this before from your bulletins. I think you expanded the list quite a bit since then.
ReplyDelete(arabs and the islamic) world enjoyed a 600 years of the greatest scientific achievements since islam spread 750AD after the prophet's Muhammad peace be upon him, and made great scientests. Arabic language backthen was the official international language of science. read about the Father of Chemistry: Jabir Ibn Haiyan
ReplyDeleteFather of Surgery: ABU AL-QASIM AL-ZAHRAVI= Abulcasis
Doctor of Doctors: Ibn Sina =Avicenna
MOHAMMAD IBN ZAKARIYA AL-RAZI (Chemist, Philosopher)
Master Physician: ABU MARWAN IBN ZUHR (Averroes)
ABU AL-NASR AL-FARABI( Logic, sociology, philosophy)
Ibn Battuta : The Incredible Traveler
Discoverer of Pulmonary Circulation : IBN AL-NAFIS
One of the Greatest Mathematicians: MOHAMMAD BIN MUSA AL-KHAWARIZMI.
your blog wont fit the rest of the list. the set back happend when we had the current secular goverments. and that's already changing in-sha-allah.
The change happened when the Ayatollah came to power and demanded a complete Islamic Shariah Government. Islam will never be the same.
ReplyDeleteAll those achievements are nothing as long as Radical Islamists tell the muslim world what to do.
Too Bad.
It's unfortunate that Arabs and the islamic world didn't continue progressing and keeping up with the modern world. Muslims could have continued to contributed a lot to the world, instilling in themselves a sense of self-worth and earning respect from everyone. In order to reclaim their lost sense of pride, they've gone backwards to the days of conquest rather than moving forward to even greater achievements than they enjoyed in the past.
ReplyDeleteThe loss of their productivity has caused many problems for muslims today. These problems are linked to their lack of self-respect which has turned to anger against the world and a tendency to blame others for their plight. Native Canadians used to suffer from the same affliction, the result of which was self-loathing which led to destructive behaviours such as alcoholism, drug abuse, promiscuity and a general lack of respect for life itself. Many Native Canadians have escaped from that downward spiral and are now happy and productive members of society while still keeping their own culture alive and highly respected. How did they achieve this? They recognized that their problems were related to an unwillingness to accept their current reality and to change and grow. They changed their viewpoint and accepted that they could be happy if they just CHOSE to be.
The biggest roadblock for muslims is Sharia Law which stifles progress and achievement by stifling freedoms. When one-half of a society oppresses and punishes the other half simply because of its gender, the result is guilt on the one side (whether conscious or subconscious) and intense resentment on the other. These feelings of guilt and resentment are suppressed because of the overriding need to obey to islam. Muslim men become aggressive. Muslim women become compliant, causing them to lose their sense of self-worth and humanity. Because muslim women accept oppression, muslim men turn their aggression toward more worthy opponents in order to assert their feelings of dominance. Instead of turning toward science and discovery as men in competitive modern societies do, muslim men turn back to conquest in order to regain their sense of manhood.
It isn't surprising that in Nabil's article, successful Arabs were to be found in successful societies. Motivation and the competitive spirit are higher in such societies and, because societal expectations are geared toward progress, peoples' goals are positive rather than negative. In Arabic countries, the main focus is on islam and enforcing Sharia Law. When the collective thought processes of a society are limited by harsh laws and expectations, the human spirit suffers; inventiveness, motivation and productivity wither and die. Instead of moving forward, Arabic societies are moving backward because of their determination to keep alive traditions that prevailed 1,400 years ago.
zeronoone"the set back happend when we had the current secular goverments"
ReplyDeleteI am not sure if u r looking for an excuse or someone to blame or both. I think the reason for the decline in achievements is related to going back to religion, sharia and going back in time, the west is secular and the achieve all the time, so this is a poor excuse, and all the arabs i mentioned in my post that were productive and achievers were none muslim, and remember lebanon is the most secular country in the arab world, so blaming secular governments is total nonsense, look again my friend and u will realize that the arabs and muslims are going back in time, and all these people u mentioned in your response and gave them all that credit, most had taken a lot from the Greeks and other civilization, so dont go too far with your imagination.
Zeronoone you are a dipshit! Get off your muslim propaganda sites that are full of crap and learn real history.
ReplyDeleteFather of Surgery - Physician Sushruta who taught and practiced surgery on the banks of the Ganges around 600 BC.
Avicenna - Persian (which Persians were forced to convert and had their tongues cut out if they did not speak in Arabic), whose works were heavily influenced by Greek and Hindu Scientist, i.e. Hippocrates, Socrates, Galen, Sushruta, Charaka, etc.
Khawarizmi - Persian, (see above) who expanded studied and expanded Vedic/Hindu math. BTW, the Arabic numeral system came from Hindus.
I am not going to go through your entire list, it would take to long. However, I will tell you this. Islam did not invent or contribute anything to science. If anything it destroyed it in Islam, when a Caliph declared math to be the work of the devil and sent Islam tumbling into it's dark ages. You can not attribute peoples individual works to Islam.
Furthermore, Islam was not even in control during Islams Golden Years in Baghdad. This was the era when it was customary to kill the Caliph and put in your own. Different dynasties were in control at different and they put in their weak Caliph which they controlled. The Caliph had no power. The government was controlled by these dynasties and even gave government seats to Christians to keep Islam from taking control. Learn some history!
Lastly, Baghdad was the Scientific Center for all scientist who came from all over the world and many religions, even China. They studied and translated many Greek, Vedic, others Sciences and expanded them.
The only thing Islam did was destroy this when, as mentioned above, a caliph declared math to be the work of the devil. You may thank Islam for your last 700 years of being in the dark ages which you only recently came out of thanks to oil.
Now go study real history and get off your bullshit muslim propaganda sites. Grow a brain and learn something instead of the brain washed crap that is spoon fed to you or you will become another ignorant Saudi who has read school books that have been changed to claim there is 7 layers in the Atmosphere to support another bullshit trumped up miracle in the Koran, when there is actually only 5 and they have included 2 (out of 20) sub layers to make it appear there is 7.
BTW, looking at your last sentence Zero (nice suiting name), the set back which you speak of happened when Baghdad was sacked by Mongols and Islam was finally able to come back into power. This is when a Caliph (which I will find his name later) declared math to be the work of the devil. You are wrong. The set back was Islam.
ReplyDeleteI found the name. Imam Hamid al-Ghazali, among a few others, declared math to be the work of the devil, which ended the Age of Science in Baghdad.
ReplyDeletethanx for you replys, still history proves islamic civilization offered great scholars and gave a lot, anyone who denies it is either lacks knowledge in history, Or simply have grudge towards islam. Fair person would recognize the 600 years of Islamic civilization contribution to science and the previous civilizations.
ReplyDeletebrother Fury, biirdy, Nabil, secular arabian governments is to blame, and the last rulers of the Islamic nation before it became colonized by westerners, because they still suppress any criticism, and fight creativity and scientific thinking. That’s why you see a lot of Arabian creative minds chose to immigrate to western countries. Only wise men would know that knowledge is a gift to mankind, limiting it to a specific nation is the work of racists. That’s why you see old Islamic nation easily accepted multi nationality, and translated the ancient civilizations work for the benefit to the world. This proves that Islam have no concept of nationalizing knowledge, after 600 years it ended once rulers of the Islamic civilization decided to rule with their own way not the Islamic way.
I won’t go into details because I don’t agree with the Topic, not because I think the topic is unfair no, I only disagree in defending Nationalism although I’m Arabian (no honor or pride in thator any other race), I honestly don’t accept the concept of dividing mankind according to nationalism, tribalism, color, religion or ideology we are one nation of mankind, and we should focus our blogs our effort our dialogs into sharing knowledge and bringing peace. Unless you decide to dedicate your life to go against that then this is your lose cause.
Quran 49:13 “O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honorable of you with Allâh is that (believer) who has At-Taqwâ (i.e. he is one of the Muttaqûn (the pious. See V.2:2). Verily, Allâh is All-Knowing, All-Aware.”
Reade carefully “that you may know one another” that’s the goal I dedicate my life to.
Be fair. peace
zeronoone I am going to be very fair.
ReplyDeleteu seem to insist that secular governments and secular leaders of the muslim world caused the set back and the lack of achievements of muslims ,so tell me , how do u explain all the achievements of people living under secular governments in the west? they have tons of achievements? so this does not make sense.
how do u explain that only the Christian Arab / Lebanese as I proved in the post above were the achievers, what does that tell u? if I wanted to dig further I would have probably found just as many other Arab christian achievers from palestine, Jordan,Syria ,and Iraq. so that tells us something, its in the religion and its in the islam, there is no other explanantion .
one more thing u may not accept dividing people by color, race, nationality, religion of ideology but the reality and the truth is that muslims are the one that divide people but along ideology and religion, between muslims and kafirs, they look at muslim vs none muslim, so honestly u need to look deeper and u will see what i am talking about.
Western secular governments vs secular Arabian governments. The big difference is (individual freedom rights).
ReplyDeleteAnd the answer to why now Christian arabs achieved more than muslims arabs is the same answer why Muslims arabs achieved more than Christian arabs in the Islamic Abbasian civilization age. clear enough?
It's obvious that the islamic "golden age" was due to ijtihad only. Radicalisation meant the downfall of it forever.
ReplyDeleteMuslims who claim that islam was the driving force behind any scientific achievement are only deluding themselves. Arabic inventions/discoveries were there DESPITE of islam, and certainly not THANKS to it. As the title rightly says, not all Arabs are failures. Only radical muslims are.
yes thank you, closing the ijtehad is also a reason that ended the golden age.
ReplyDeleteanyone claims islam is against ijtehad or research let him bring proof, I accept ANY proof from the quran or authenticated Sunnah (main sources of islam). support your claims, or otherwise no one (fair) will take your words seriously (claiming islam is against achievement is just another islamophobs unsupported myth).
Quran 27:64"Say: "Bring forth your proofs, if you are truthful.""
I wonder isn't it my right to ask you to verify your claims or should I blindly believe whatever you say :)
Dalia,
ReplyDeleteI know it's been 4 months since you commented stating that Omar El Sharif was a muslim. Well, yes and NO.
He is a CHRISTIAN, born into a Christian family. He "aslam" (surrendered/submitted) i.e. Became a muslim in order to marry Faten Hamama - with whom he fell in love while filming a movie and they really hit it off during a romantic scene they were doing together. being that the law in Egypt (and most other muslim countries) that for a man to marry a muslim woman, he MUST first become muslim.
So, did he embrace islam after converting, or did he just do it for the legal paperwork that needed to be filled out.
Seeing how Faten Hamama behaved, I don't think that EITHER of them observed ANYTHING islamic.
Either way, they got divorced shortly thereafter, and, as the law says, once you're muslim, you cannot convert out (much like gangs and cults).
Peace.
